Rob Gonsalves is a Canadian artist who is known for his surrealistic/fantasy paintings that blend fiction with realism.
Although his paintings are often categorized as surrealism, a more accurate term would be “Magic Realism” because unlike true surrealist art, which attempt to present the expression of the unconscious mind, Gonsalves’ paintings are deliberately planned through conscious thought to create a careful blend between dream and reality.
